Your loaf of bread #27

Summer Outreach

Team 5940 is pleased to celebrate our successful summer of productivity and community building. Over the course of the summer, our team accomplished incredible things, including multiple library workshops where we provided free opportunities to explore multiple STEM-based activities to local communities. BREAD also had a wonderful time collaborating with our campers from the Bread and Butter and Knead to Know summer camps this June. We are so proud to have extended our outreach programs and progressed in offering more accessible STEM knowledge and skills. We were also happy to have had the chance to demonstrate our robot’s skills at the San Mateo County Fair. We aim to continue to enrich our local atmosphere and allow for more fun and creative STEM experiences.

Sunset Showdown Recap

Team 5940 BREAD has kicked off the off-season with an exciting first competition. Our team finished with a record of 11-4-0 and ranked 5th within the entire competition. We were captain of Alliance Three with team 6962, Antares, as well as team 6884B, Deep Space Robotics’ B bot. Our alliance competed up to playoff match 13. BREAD had a wonderful start to the season with our alliance members and are glad to have gotten to compete alongside them during Sunset Showdown this summer.

Q: Can you share some advice for new team members?

A: As we've said before, no previous experience is required to join. What matters is being willing to learn, ask questions, and get involved. We're here to help everyone build the skills they need to do their best during the on-season.

Q: What are some of your goals for the team for this year?
