Off-season robots

In preparation for the coming competition season, BREAD builds a second robot called Crumbs. We have our less experienced members take charge in CADing, fabricating, and programming a robot to compete in the off-season. This gives students who were new to the team during the previous on-season the opportunity to practice these valuable skills. It gives them hands-on experience in a lower-pressure environment and helps them build a realistic idea of what to expect the work to look like. Additionally, it lets senior members pass down knowledge and gives their soon-to-be successors practice managing the project. We started this in 2022, and have since added a second off-season robot called Panko that we build if we have time to let even less experienced members practice leading and fabricating!
